Here are some of the most common questions families ask when starting the insurance process for an enclosed safety bed.

Will my insurance cover an enclosed safety bed?

Many insurance plans do cover enclosed safety beds when they’re deemed medically necessary. Approval depends on your policy and documentation from your child’s healthcare provider.

What documentation is required?

Most insurance companies ask for:

  • A prescription from your child’s doctor

  • A letter of medical necessity

  • Supporting notes from therapists and doctor

How long does approval take?

Timing varies by insurance company, but most authorizations are processed within 30 days once all documentation is submitted.

What if my insurance coverage is denied?

If your request is denied, don’t worry. We work to appeal, and we’ll provide additional guidance or documentation if needed.

Do you work with Medicaid?

Yes, many of our families use Medicaid or state-funded insurance programs. We’ll connect with your doctor and insurance company to get your claim processed.

What if I live outside Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, or South Carolina?

We can help connect you with a DME partner in your area for the Permanent Bed 300 with Monitor. Currently, our other insurance-only products (incontinence supplies, mobility aids, medical accessories) are available only for Ohio residents.
